DBQ: Mislabeled " Era great Feelings”
The " Era of good feelings” was a mislabeled time frame in American History. The complete growth and expansion from the country as well as the overall nationalistic view of numerous Americans brought about what could always be viewed as a peaceful age, one of good feelings. White men and woman celebrated in the fact that they had strong national commanders of the republic, a metabolic rate that was without fail, and a strong ranking as the Unites States, a country. What overpowered those so called good emotions was a huge misunderstanding of what nationalism meant and how it affected the claims; the rising of sectionalism. The differences and divisions in government concepts, not only from the leaders, yet of the persons; in that a few wanted a very good central govt and others wished a decentralized government. America would have to encounter economic challenges and most notably face the role and division that slavery would play in the says. The Time of good thoughts was often a politics coax. In 1816 the first party system came to an end. James Monroe was a well-known man elected into office and caused an era of peace and good emotions to his American people. With the end of contract of the Federalist Party and the ending with the war of 1812, Monroe found himself in superb standings. There was no threats from a great opposing get together and no threats from foreign affairs. That is how Monroe so very easily persuaded the American visitors to believe that sections and jeu did not exist after the warfare. It was not only this he wanted the American people to believe him nevertheless that this individual, himself wanted to believe that the usa, politically, can bring about and era great feeling, or at least on the surface. The nationalist spirit seen in (Doc C) that Monroe brought about gained him the election in 1820 (Doc I) displaying that he was again nominated with no oppositions.
